Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Clyent Softwares Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), trading as Rundown, handles personal information when you use Rundown, including our website and desktop app (the "Service").
Clyent Softwares Ltd is the controller of your personal information. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 13026970) at 128 City Road, London, United Kingdom, EC1V 2NX. You can contact us at support@rundown.gg.
This policy also covers Fortnite players who don't use Rundown but whose tournament data we process (see section 4).
1. Information we collect
1.1. Account information
Your email address, username and profile picture. You sign in with Google, Discord or a link sent to your email, and we receive basic profile information from the provider you choose.
1.2. Connected accounts
If you connect Epic Games, Discord or Dropmap, we store that account's ID and display name so we can match your replays and tournament results to you.
1.3. Replays and match data
The replay files you upload, and the match data we produce from them, including results, statistics, and your position and movement during the match.
Replays also contain information about other players in the match, such as their Epic display names and what they did in the game. We use it only to build your match breakdown, and only you can see your uploaded replays.
1.4. Tournament data
If you connect Epic Games, we show your tournament history from the tournament data we hold (see section 4).
1.5. Settings and activity
Your settings, reminders and notifications, and your signed-in sessions, including which browser or device each one is on.
1.6. Usage and technical information
- Analytics. Rundown uses PostHog to understand how people use it, such as which pages and features they use. When you're signed in, this is linked to your account.
- Security. We use IP addresses and account details to protect the Service from abuse, for example by rate limiting sign-ins.
- Hosting and error logs. Our hosting and error-monitoring providers process technical information such as IP addresses, request details and error reports.
1.7. Communications
The emails we send you, such as sign-in links, and any messages you send us.
2. The desktop app
The desktop app for Windows watches your Fortnite replays folder and, while you're signed in, uploads finished replays automatically, including your recent ones when you first sign in. It starts with Windows and updates itself. You can turn off automatic uploading and starting with Windows in Settings.
Uninstalling it removes the data it keeps on your computer.
3. How we use your information
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Run your account, analyse your replays and show you your matches and statistics | Contract |
| Send service emails, reminders and notifications | Contract |
| Collect and analyse tournament data (section 4) | Legitimate interests |
| Produce anonymised aggregate statistics, such as loot spawn rates and map heatmaps | Legitimate interests |
| Analytics to understand and improve the Service | Legitimate interests |
| Keep the Service secure and fix problems | Legitimate interests |
| Meet legal obligations | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object (see section 9).
We don't sell your personal information.
4. Tournament data and players who don't use Rundown
Rundown analyses competitive Fortnite. To do this, we collect data about players in Fortnite tournaments from Epic Games, whether or not they use Rundown. This includes:
- Tournament results, such as leaderboard positions and match placements
- Epic account information, such as display names and the country shown on leaderboards
- Tournament match replays, including what each player did in the match
Rundown users can see this data for any player.
If this applies to you, you have the rights in section 9, including the right to object. Email support@rundown.gg with your Epic display name. Tournament data isn't linked to a Rundown account, so deleting your account doesn't remove it. Ask us separately if you want it removed.
5. Who we share information with
We use these service providers, which process information on our behalf:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| OVHcloud | Servers and databases |
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, security and storage |
| Backblaze | Backups |
| PostHog | Analytics |
| Bird | |
| Sentry | Error monitoring |
| Google, Discord, Epic Games, Dropmap | Sign-in and connected accounts |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Rundown, our users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business.
Our staff can access your information only when they need to, for example to provide support.
6. International transfers
Our main servers are in Canada, which the UK and EU recognise as giving adequate protection. Some providers process information in other countries, including the United States. When we transfer information to a country without that recognition, we use approved safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
7. How long we keep information
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Account information | Until you delete your account |
| Replay files | 14 days |
| Match data from your replays | Up to 1 year; match summaries until you delete your account |
| Tournament data | Up to 12 months |
| Backups | About 5 weeks |
Anonymised aggregate statistics don't identify anyone, and we may keep them indefinitely.
8. Cookies
Rundown uses cookies to keep you signed in and for analytics with PostHog. It also uses your browser's local storage to remember your preferences.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
You can download your data and delete your account in Settings. Deleting your account removes your account information, replays and match data. Copies in backups are deleted within about 5 weeks.
For anything else, email support@rundown.gg. We'll reply within one month.
10. Security
We use measures such as encryption in transit, encrypted backups and restricted staff access to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but if a breach puts you at risk, we'll tell you as the law requires.
11. Children
You must be at least 13 to use Rundown. If you're under the age where you can consent to data processing where you live, you need your parent or guardian's permission. If we learn that a child under 13 has used Rundown, we'll delete their information.
12. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date. If the changes are significant, we'll also tell you in the app or by email.
